Congress report swiss orthopaedics 2014

For the 74 time the annual congress of the swiss society for orthopaedics and traumatology took place last week in St. Gallen, where the society presented itself for the first time under the new name swiss orthopaedics.

The congress attracted over 1100 participants and over 70 exhibitors. With about 200 new registrations on site, the Organizers info desk was busy.

On Wednesday evening the congress opening started with a lot of rhythm with “Drums2Streets”. The two main themes “the painful implant” and “proximal femoral fracture” as well as the plenty of free communications offered enough topics of conversation for discussions during the breaks. Furthermore, as every year, the social dinner on Thursday evening was not to be missed. After stepping down as president of the society Bernhard Christen handed over the sceptre to Alain Farron, who will preside the society for the next two years.
